MicroAce N gauge 8620 Class (68962)The Chuo Line in the Tokyo area was electrified very early on and is not generally associated with steam locomotives. However a few could be found up until the 1960s, mainly on shunting duties at the goods stations dotted along the line and on freight trip workings, particularly along the various industrial branches. A common type was the 8620 class, a 2-6-0 type built in large numbers between 1914 and 1929 and which saw service in many parts of Japan. This model is based on the prototype with running number 68692, which was based in Shikoku and is now preserved on static display in a park in Tokushima. Reference
